Alix Earle’s Podcast Dropped by Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network

In a significant shakeup within the podcasting landscape, Alix Earle’s “Hot Mess Podcast” has been dropped from Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network, according to multiple outlets. This abrupt change comes just months after the show was launched in September 2023, under the Unwell banner, which is co-founded by Cooper and her husband, Matt Kaplan.

SiriusXM, which entered a content partnership with Alex Cooper in August, has also renounced its rights to the “Hot Mess Podcast” and will cease selling advertisements for the show. This decision has fueled growing speculation on social media regarding a potential rift between the two podcast hosts. The tension seemed to surface when Earle was notably absent from an Unwell Network Super Bowl event in New Orleans, prompting further scrutiny into the relationship between the two.

The “Hot Mess Podcast,” as described in its official synopsis, aimed to tackle various topics including friendships, family dynamics, relationship updates, and the challenges of life after college. The podcast was positioned to resonate with a young audience navigating similar life experiences.

As the news broke, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy joined the conversation, sharing a screenshot of an alleged 22-minute phone call with Earle on social media. Portnoy teased that more details would emerge soon and hinted at the possibility of hiring Earle for his own ventures. In a TikTok post dated February 25, he addressed the growing interest in the situation by stating, “You can stop tagging me. I know what needs to be done.”

Both Earle and Cooper’s representatives have been contacted for comment regarding the separation, but as of now, there has been no official response. This development leaves fans and followers speculating about the future of both hosts and the direction of their respective projects in the ever-evolving podcast industry.
