Bodycam Shows Haley Joel Osment’s ‘Blackout’ Arrest at Ski Lodge (video)

Haley Joel Osment, the former child star known for his role in the acclaimed film “The Sixth Sense,” was recently arrested for public intoxication at a ski lodge in Mammoth Lakes, California. The incident, which occurred on April 8, was captured on police body cameras and has since drawn significant media attention due to Osment’s behavior during the arrest, including the use of an anti-Semitic slur.

According to reports, staff at the Mammoth Mountain ski resort noticed Osment exhibiting signs of intoxication and subsequently called law enforcement after he attempted to load a ski lift while visibly impaired. When officers arrived, they found Osment struggling to stand and uncooperative with their requests for identification. Throughout the encounter, he repeatedly claimed he was being attacked, despite the officers’ attempts to explain the nature of the situation.

The bodycam footage reveals a chaotic scene as officers attempted to detain Osment, who was unsteady on his feet and resisted their efforts. At one point, the officers searched his belongings and discovered cash in his ski helmet, which they suspected could be linked to cocaine, although specific details regarding the substance have not been publicly confirmed.

As the situation escalated, Osment reportedly expressed frustration and began making erratic statements, including a reference to being “kidnapped by a Nazi,” and used derogatory language that has been widely condemned. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Mono County jail, where he was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of cocaine.

In a statement to People magazine, Osment expressed deep remorse for his actions. He described himself as “absolutely horrified” by his behavior and apologized to the Jewish community, acknowledging the gravity of his remarks. Osment attributed his state to a “blackout,” a result of emotional distress following personal losses, including the loss of his home in the California wildfires.

The Mono County District Attorney’s Office has confirmed that Osment is scheduled for arraignment on June 7. The public reaction to the incident has been mixed, with many expressing disappointment in the former child star’s conduct, while others have called for understanding regarding his personal struggles.

As the situation develops, it remains to be seen how Osment will navigate the legal repercussions of his actions and whether he will take further steps toward accountability and personal growth.
