A bombshell new report from the Department of Labor’s inspector general has dropped jaw-dropping details about former Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s time in office, including allegations of an inappropriate bond with her bodyguard and a wild strip club outing that left her security team visibly uncomfortable.
According to the inspector general’s findings released Thursday, Chavez-DeRemer reportedly developed an unprofessionally close relationship with her protective detail leader, Brian Sloan, while also directing a subordinate to toss cash onto partially 𝓷𝓾𝓭𝓮 dancers during a visit to an Oregon strip club in April 2025.
The report claims that during the “off the record” trip, the former secretary pulled money from her purse, handed it to a driver from her security team, and instructed him to give it to a performer. When the agent hesitated, Sloan allegedly told him to follow orders. Chavez-DeRemer then reportedly took more cash and asked the agent to drop the bills one by one onto the dancer.
The watchdog’s investigation found evidence of multiple policy violations, including mixing personal and official travel, drinking alcohol on federal property without authorization, and using government employees for personal errands. However, the report notes there wasn’t enough proof to confirm a romantic or sexual relationship between Chavez-DeRemer and Sloan.
Hotel door lock records from two Las Vegas trips allegedly showed the pair spending portions of the night in each other’s rooms. One of those trips happened during a federal government shutdown, with photos obtained by The Post showing Chavez-DeRemer enjoying drinks poolside at a casino resort.
Witnesses also reported seeing Chavez-DeRemer massaging Sloan’s shoulders during a car ride to Michigan, and hearing him make a comment that was interpreted as a sexual innuendo. When she asked if he was tired, he reportedly replied he was “solid as a rock,” and both laughed.
The report also revealed that multiple staffers, including her former chief of staff and deputy chief of staff, violated policies related to workplace harassment, alcohol use on the job, and misuse of government resources. Some security agents were reportedly excluded from her detail because they were perceived as “too old, physically unfit, overly rule-bound, or too MAGA.”
Chavez-DeRemer resigned in April, just months after the probe first came to light. She recently joined the Log Cabin Republicans as a board member.
