MANCHESTER UNITED fans are raving about academy starlet Noam Emeran after his performance against Leeds today.
Emeran came on for United’s second half in Norway as manager Erik Ten Hag rotated his entire XI.
And there was no doubt that he was the star of the second-half, as he inspired his side to a 2-0 victory.
The 20-year-old Frenchman bagged a goal and an assist as a young United XI brushed aside a far more experienced Leeds team.
Not only was Emeran productive but he showed promising glimpses of edge-of-the-seat technique – with some nice dribbles and flicks dotted throughout his second-half performance.
And fans were quick to get excited about the prospect of what Emeran could do this season.
Replying to a video showing Emeran’s goal and assist, one fan said: “This Emeran fella is better than Antony.”
Another wrote: “Emeran looked better than Sancho ffs 😭”
While a third added: “Hugill’s goal, but my word… what a pass from Emeran. 🥵🔥”
A fourth was impressed with the team’s overall performance, saying: “We outclassed them in the 2nd half with our U21s & dominated that with ease, much more control in the performance too.
“Mainoo the standout for me… Mount, Amad, Isak, Hannibal, Fernandez & Emeran all impressed.”
Emeran is a product of United’s academy having joined the Red Devils from Amiens as a 16-year-old in 2019.
The forward was hotly-tipped for success with Barcelona, Juventus and PSG all battling out for his signature at the time.
But United ultimately won out, and since signing for the Red Devils he has featured heavily for the youth side in the PL2.
His father Fritz was also a footballer and played right-back for the Rwandan national team.
United’s friendly with Leeds gave fans the chance to get their first look at Mason Mount in a United shirt, and he very nearly opened his United account with a spectacular chip over Leeds keeper Kristoffer Klaesson.
Familiar faces in the form of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez also returned to the side.
The likes of Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes were absent however, with international players still being given time off to recuperate.
United’s next friendly will be against Lyon next Wednesday.
