If you thought hiding from Michael Meyers was the only creepy part of the new “Halloween” video game, think again. Developers just pulled a controversial minigame that reportedly let a 56-year-old character hook up with high schoolers—and fans are not happy about the fix.
The game, based on the legendary slasher franchise, dropped in early access on September 4. Players take on different roles while trying to escape the masked killer. But streamers quickly spotted something disturbing: Dr.
Loomis—a character modeled after the late Donald Pleasence—could apparently initiate sexual encounters with teen characters.
Gaming clips of the sequence went 𝓿𝒾𝓇𝒶𝓁, showing two players hiding in a closet. One could press a button to make a move, and if the other agreed, both had to fill a heart meter together. The action wasn’t shown on screen, but the hiding spot would shake and moans could be heard—alerting the killer to their location.
“I think they forgot to make it so Loomis couldn’t f–k,” one gamer posted as the clips spread. Another wrote, “The 70 year old dead actor’s likeness f–king a teenager has gotta be patched out right?”
The developer, IllFonic, removed the minigame entirely on Sunday. But the change sparked backlash. Some players called the removal a “lame bandaid fix,” arguing the feature was part of the fun.
Others felt it crossed a line.
IllFonic has not commented publicly. The full game is set for wide release on September 8—so will more surprises be hiding in the shadows?
