The Hollywood Walk of Fame added a new star today, and the ceremony became an emotional, raucous celebration as legendary rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony accepted the honor in front of a massive, adoring crowd that spilled into the streets of Los Angeles.
Fans packed the sidewalks and blocked traffic near the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street, a turnout so extraordinary that Fat Joe, who delivered one of the first speeches, could barely contain his awe. “They say I exaggerate, but what if I told you I’ve been to 10 of these and I never seen people out in the street like they out here for Bone Thugs and Harmony right now,” he declared, prompting thunderous applause.
The ceremony, captured by YTV, quickly turned into a heartfelt reunion. Fat Joe, visibly moved, recalled their early days together at the same record label. “These guys went and they was the Michael Jacksons. They went and sold 30 million records. I sold like two copies. They never acted funny with me,” he said, his voice thick with gratitude. He spoke of their decades-long friendship, including personal moments like attending Big Pun’s funeral together.
The group’s members–Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, and Wish Bone–each took the podium, their speeches raw and unscripted. The heat was oppressive, and the crowd was restless, but the emotion was undeniable. Layzie Bone, holding no prepared remarks, kept it brief: “I just want to say shout out to my family, my kids, my beautiful kids, my wife, our fans, because y’all are the reason this is happening today.”
Krayzie Bone offered thanks to God, his family, and the fans, while also acknowledging the late Eazy-E and Ice Cube’s wife Tama Woods for “picking up the gauntlet” after Eazy’s passing. “This is everybody’s star,” he said. “God bless you. Keep your waitresses.”

Bizzy Bone, always the most animated, brought a mix of humor and deep sincerity. “I found out today that I was 18,900 days old. That’s some shit, ain’t it?” he said to laughter. Then his voice softened. “All I ever wanted in life was for my homeboy to be successful. All I ever wanted was for us to prosper.” He declared the group “an industry within our own self” and urged the crowd to join them at a nearby party.
Wish Bone, the final speaker, summed up the collective spirit: “We don’t have fans. Everybody’s both family. So we are family in this shit tonight.” He promised new music, adding, “We still out here doing our damn thing.”
The group, hailing from Cleveland’s East 1999, has sold over 30 million records worldwide. Their unique blend of rapid-fire harmonies and dark, melodic storytelling made them icons of the 1990s and beyond. For them, this star was a long overdue recognition.

“All we wanted to do was share our particular sound to inspire the world,” Layzie Bone had said earlier, fighting emotion. “And I thank God for giving us another chance to celebrate together.”
Police and security struggled to manage the crowd as the event reached its peak. At one point, the group’s members nearly vanished behind the wall of fans and cameras. “We can’t see,” someone shouted from the stage. Photographers were told to move. “Move your camera, please,” a voice yelled.
In the chaos, a final proclamation was made: the day was officially declared “Bone Thugs and Harmony Day” in Hollywood. The group raised their hands, embraced, and stood together on the star. The music swelled. Fans cheered. And for one afternoon, the legends of Cleveland owned Hollywood.

The ceremony lasted roughly 30 minutes, but the impact–for the group and for the thousands who came to witness it–will last a lifetime. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony now has a permanent home on the Walk of Fame, a testament to a sound that changed hip-hop and a bond that has survived every storm.
As Fat Joe said, “I’m just so proud of you guys. I brag about you guys when you nowhere near me. Now they know I’m Joey Bone, baby. I’m here, man.”
The star, located at 7051 Hollywood Boulevard, is now one of the most visited spots on the Walk. For Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, the journey from the streets of Cleveland to this moment is a story of survival, unity, and music that refuses to fade. Today, they didn’t just get a star. They got a victory lap.
