In a heartbreaking twist to a tragic story, the cellphone of 18-year-old Nolan Wells is set to undergo a “mutual inspection” as concerns arise over potentially deleted content. This development comes after Wells was found deceased two days following a boat trip to Horn Island, Mississippi, on the Fourth of July.
While authorities have stated that there are currently no indications of foul play, Nolan’s family is taking matters into their own hands, seeking clarity and answers during this difficult time. Questions linger about why he left his phone behind and whether any Snapchat messages may have been erased before the device was returned to his loved ones.
Wells’ parents, Christine and Elmore Wonsley, along with their attorney, the well-known civil rights advocate Ben Crump, recently met with Jackson County District Attorney Angel McIlrath to discuss the ongoing investigation. Following their meeting at the Jackson County Courthouse in Pascagoula, Crump revealed that a grand jury will be convened once all evidence has been gathered.

“We have agreed to conduct a mutual inspection of the cellphone with our experts and their experts,” Crump stated during a press conference, emphasizing the collaborative effort to uncover the truth.

As the investigation unfolds, the community remains hopeful for answers. What will the inspection reveal about Nolan’s final moments?
