In a 𝓈𝒽𝓸𝒸𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔 turn of events, two school principals from Florida found themselves in a precarious situation after both were arrested for driving under the influence just hours apart, all while riding in the same vehicle. The incidents unfolded on July 5, raising eyebrows in the local community.
Jennifer Jimenez, 41, who serves as the principal of Pinecrest Academy Tavares, was the first to be stopped by law enforcement around 2 a.m. Reports indicate that deputies observed her white Jeep swerving into oncoming traffic and hitting a curb. According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Jimenez acknowledged that she had been drinking earlier that day.
Witnesses described her as “very unsteady and choppy,” noting that she struggled to maintain her balance when asked to stand still. Despite the circumstances, she declined to participate in field sobriety tests, leading to her arrest.

In a twist of fate, Jimenez’s passenger, Christina Alcalde, 45, the principal of Pinecrest Lakes Academy, was deemed too impaired to drive as well. Police arranged a rideshare for her, leaving the Jeep parked nearby.

However, just two and a half hours later, authorities spotted the same Jeep and pulled it over again, this time with Alcalde at the wheel. After undergoing field sobriety testing, she too was arrested.

Both principals have pleaded not guilty to DUI charges and to refusing sobriety testing. Court documents reveal that they were each released on a $2,000 bond.
As the community processes this unexpected news, many are left wondering how this will impact their schools and the leadership within them. What does this mean for the future of these two educators?
