Heartbroken Father Speaks Out for the First Time After Losing His Wife and Daughter in the Mersea Beach Tragedy...

A London father is struggling to hold back tears as he mourns the devastating loss of his wife and teenage daughter, who drowned during what was supposed to be a joyful seaside outing.

Dr. Mansur Rahman, a well-known community leader, spoke through grief about the tragedy that struck his family on West Mersea beach. His wife, Shelina Rahman, a teacher in her 40s, and their 15-year-old daughter Sameeha died after several family members got into trouble in the water.

Speaking publicly for the first time since the accident, Dr. Rahman said his loved ones “returned to their creator” after the drowning incident on Wednesday. He thanked the community for their overwhelming support, explaining that he hasn’t been able to answer the flood of calls and messages.

At a funeral service over the weekend, Dr. Rahman was seen visibly emotional as he helped carry a coffin for his wife and daughter. He also revealed that his nephew remains in intensive care, while his elder son and daughter survived and are now home safe.

Essex Police confirmed the mother and daughter died after apparently trying to help a seven-year-old boy who was struggling in the water. That boy is still in critical condition. Detective Chief Inspector Al Pitcher described the loss as “unimaginable” and said all involved are relatives.

The investigation continues as officers speak to witnesses and piece together exactly what unfolded that afternoon on the popular beach.
