A hammer, a blood-soaked home, and a grandmotherās horrifying discoveryānew details have emerged in the šš½šøšøšš¾šš case of a trans son accused of murdering his own mother inside a Laguna Beach rental house.
Safford James Wolfson, 36, faces murder charges for allegedly bludgeoning 61-year-old Angela Caprioli to death with a hammer, according to court documents released by the Orange County District Attorneyās Office.
Caprioli had traveled from Maine to visit her son, authorities said. Cops arrived at the hillside home on Dunning Drive around 11 a. m.
on July 20 after Wolfsonās grandmother entered the residence and found blood-spattered floors, smashed furniture, and Wolfson himself lying covered in blood, prosecutors claim.
When police searched the home, they found Caprioli with severe blunt-force injuries to her head and face. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbor Dustin Pettit told local outlets that he witnessed a tense argument between Wolfson and Caprioli on the front lawn before the alleged attack.
āI saw her outside talking with him and it seemed like a pretty hostile conversation,ā Pettit recalled. āShe turned around and went inside and slammed the door, like she was fed up.ā
Wolfson was arrested three days later and is being held on $1 million bail. An arraignment is set for Oct. 1 in Orange County.
Online, investigators discovered a strange digital footprint. An X account under Wolfsonās name reportedly identifies the user as a ātrans girl looking for fun in LA.ā A TikTok account linked to the suspect features videos of Wolfson dancing in dresses, miniskirts, and crop tops.
A LinkedIn profile showing Wolfsonās name says they co-founded Kevinās House LLC, a Southern California dual-diagnosis sober living and assisted adult care facility for people with mental health challenges. Caprioli described herself as the founder of Kevinās House on her Facebook page, where one post shows the mother and son smiling together.
As the community reels, one question lingers: what could drive someone to allegedly use a hammer against the person who gave them life?
