A pop star moved out. His 60-foot robot didn’t.
A colossal robot of that massive height has been haunting the English countryside after being left behind at the former estate of UK pop star Robbie Williams, terrifying unsuspecting locals who stumble across it lurking in the woods.
The mechanical giant, which residents have nicknamed “Om,” once served as the showstopping centerpiece of a $20 million concert set built for Take That, the British boy band fronted by Williams.
The animatronic figure debuted during the group’s blockbuster 2011 world tour, a production so massive it rivaled anything American acts like *NSYNC or the Backstreet Boys ever rolled out.
Williams, one of the UK’s best-selling solo artists, once called the sprawling seven-bedroom mansion in Compton Bassett his home.

But when he sold the Wiltshire property years later, the towering robot apparently stayed put, quietly rusting away among the trees.
Now it’s become an unlikely local legend.
Drivers and dog walkers passing the estate have reported doing a double take at the sight of the hulking figure peering out from the foliage.
Resident Sarah Spencer said the shock of the sighting stopped her in her tracks.
“When I first saw it I had to turn around and go back to see what I thought I’d seen,” Spencer told Talker News. “It caught me completely off guard but I was intrigued. I thought someone had built a Wicker Man.”
Fellow villager Liz Neve described a similarly eerie encounter, saying the robot’s placement along the road makes it feel like it materializes out of thin air.
“It’s such a perfect location as it just seems to emerge from nowhere and then as you drive alongside it, it seems to withdraw back into the foliage,” Neve said.
Neve joked she wondered “if the locals might be building up to a re-enactment of the Wicker Man.”
Neither Williams nor representatives for the estate have said why the towering prop was never hauled away, or whether there are any plans to finally give the abandoned robot its walking papers.
