Hospital Worker Accused of Supporting Child Rape Had a Disturbing Secret Trove—“Worst I’ve Ever Seen”

A hospital worker in Ohio was caught with what authorities are calling some of the most disturbing child sexual 𝓪𝓫𝓾𝓼𝓮 material they’ve ever encountered—and court documents claim he openly argued that child rape should be legalized.

Benjamin Naylor, 32, worked at a Cincinnati hospital until an online vigilante group called Predator Poachers targeted him, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The group allegedly posed as a 13-year-old boy online, and Naylor reportedly told the decoy, “Age is just a number.”

When confronted at his workplace during a livestreamed showdown, Naylor reportedly confessed to exchanging child 𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒏. Police later searched his phone and found videos and images of children as young as one month old, including one clip where a child can be heard screaming for the attacker to stop.

“I’ve been doing this kind of investigation for a long time, and I will say that the images that Mr. Naylor had were some of the absolute worst I’ve ever seen,” Cincinnati Police Detective Mary Braun told the judge during sentencing, as reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Prosecutors revealed that Naylor allegedly described a fantasy to “meet up with a perv dad and his boy for 𝒔𝒆𝒙” in an online chat with a user named “Active Perv.” The chats reportedly suggested he didn’t believe his actions were wrong.

“He does not think child rape should be criminalized. In fact, he wants it legalized,” Assistant Prosecutor Elyse Deters said during the hearing, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Naylor’s defense attorney argued that his client is intellectually disabled, legally blind, and has never had a significant other, claiming he didn’t understand what he did was wrong. But Judge Wende Cross wasn’t swayed, saying, “[Your diagnosis] does not excuse this conduct, and it does not diminish the harm to the children depicted in this material.”

Naylor pleaded guilty to eight counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and one count of illegal use of a minor in a state of nudity. He was sentenced to 7 to 9½ years in prison, plus five years of post-release control, and must register as a tier two 𝒔𝒆𝒙 offender.

What could drive someone to hold such deeply disturbing beliefs about children?
