50 Cent on new projects and upcoming docuseries on Diddy allegations

50 Cent, the multifaceted rapper, actor, producer, and businessman, continues to dominate the entertainment landscape, showing no signs of slowing down. In a recent interview, Curtis James Jackson III, better known as 50 Cent, opened up about his upcoming projects, including a new docuseries addressing allegations against fellow artist Diddy, as well as his much-anticipated return to the stage.

The artist, who has successfully carved out a niche as a mogul in various domains, reflected on the origins of his stage name, revealing that “50 Cent” was inspired both by a metaphor for change and a notorious Brooklyn bank robber from the 1980s. His early commitment to authenticity in his music and storytelling has driven his ambition and success. “I just wanted the music to be a success initially,” he explained, noting that his goals have evolved over time.

As he prepares for the upcoming Humor and Harmony Festival in Shreveport, Louisiana, 50 Cent emphasized the importance of creating a lasting legacy. “These things will be here longer than I will,” he stated, highlighting his desire to present his community in a premium light through high-quality storytelling.

Since the launch of his groundbreaking series “Power” in 2014, which has grown into a sprawling universe of spin-offs, 50 Cent has experienced a significant turning point in his career. He revealed that the success of the show became evident when major platforms expressed interest in the cast despite his absence. “Television makes stars,” he noted, stressing the importance of talent over individual names.

With an impressive portfolio of 41 shows across ten different networks, 50 Cent is not only expanding his television empire but also delving into films and documentaries. One of his notable upcoming projects is a docuseries on Diddy, an endeavor that has garnered attention given the recent allegations against the music mogul. While 50 Cent admitted his surprise at the allegations, he expressed his concerns about Diddy’s lifestyle choices, which he felt distanced him from the party scene. “I did feel uncomfortable with the way you would present the idea of going to these projects to come party with me,” he remarked.

As speculation swirls around the ongoing allegations against both Diddy and Jay-Z, 50 Cent remains focused on his work while expressing concern for those involved. “I hope it works out,” he commented regarding Jay-Z’s situation, acknowledging the complexities of such accusations.

On the music front, 50 Cent is gearing up for a residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas from December 27 to January 1, with additional dates in early January. He expressed excitement about the production possibilities that come with a residency compared to a traditional tour. “I can build things that I can’t tear down and build again,” he explained, enhancing the live experience for fans.

Selecting songs for the residency has posed a challenge, as he aims to balance fan favorites with new material. While he does not have a singular favorite song, he remains open to incorporating his latest releases into the setlist. As for future tours, 50 Cent hinted at the possibility of a stadium tour, emphasizing his enjoyment of live performances without the pressure of releasing new music simultaneously.

In a landscape where entertainment options are constantly evolving, 50 Cent’s unwavering ambition and innovative projects continue to capture the public’s attention, solidifying his status as a true multi-hyphenate in the industry. As fans eagerly await his upcoming residency and new ventures, it is clear that 50 Cent’s influence is far from diminished.
