Chiefs HC Andy Reid disappointed with QB Carson Wentz after Chiefs Ugly Lose to Broncos (video)

In a disappointing outing for the Kansas City Chiefs, head coach Andy Reid expressed his frustration following the team’s lackluster performance against the Denver Broncos, which resulted in a painful loss. The defeat has sparked concerns about quarterback Carson Wentz’s performance, as Reid reflected on the need for improvement both individually and collectively.

Despite the challenging conditions, with blizzard warnings affecting the Midwest, Reid emphasized the importance of experience gained during the game. “That experience is invaluable, especially against a good football team,” he stated, acknowledging that the team needed to perform better. Reid indicated plans to meet with the team later that evening to address the game’s shortcomings.

Wentz, who had been brought in to provide depth at the quarterback position, had a mixed performance. While Reid noted that the quarterback had moments of efficiency, he also pointed out that there were critical throws Wentz would like to have back. “I missed some throws, did some things… I got to play better,” Wentz commented after the game. He recognized the team’s struggles to sustain drives early on, which ultimately contributed to their downfall.

Wentz’s sentiments were echoed by Reid, who stated, “We didn’t play great as a team. I didn’t play my best either.” Both acknowledged the need for quick recovery and focus on the future, with Wentz expressing optimism about upcoming opportunities for the team. “We know what’s ahead of us as a team… where we’re trying to go and what we’re capable of doing,” he added.

The Chiefs are now faced with the challenge of regrouping as they prepare for their next matchup. Reid highlighted that the loss, while disappointing, offered valuable repetitions for some players that could prove crucial down the line. The coaching staff plans to analyze the game tape to identify areas for improvement.

As the team navigates through adverse weather conditions and the aftermath of the loss, Reid and Wentz remain committed to fostering a resilient mindset. With the regular season still ongoing, both are hopeful that the team can leverage this experience for future success.
