Sauce Walka Shot After SaysoP K!lled Runs Off On Plug w/ $285K MPD Release Suspect Arrested At Hotel (video)

In a shocking incident in downtown Memphis, rapper Sauce Walka was shot after an apparent robbery attempt that left one person dead and another critically injured. The violence erupted around 2:40 PM on George W. Lee Avenue, close to the FedEx Forum, a popular venue in the area. Eyewitnesses reported a chaotic scene as multiple shots were fired in broad daylight, prompting an immediate response from local law enforcement.

According to police reports, the suspects exited a vehicle and opened fire on two victims. Detectives from the Memphis Police Department (MPD) are treating the shooting as a targeted incident. Surveillance footage captured the moments leading up to the shooting, indicating that the suspects had been monitoring Sauce Walka’s movements. Sources suggest that the rapper was leaving a hotel when the suspects, armed and prepared, approached him under the pretense of a greeting.

Witnesses described how the incident unfolded. Sauce Walka was reportedly retrieving jewelry from the back of a truck when he was confronted by the suspects. In a swift altercation, the assailants attempted to snatch his chain, leading to a struggle that escalated into gunfire. Tragically, one associate of Sauce Walka, known as SaysoP, was pronounced dead at the scene, while another individual sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Regional One Health.

The MPD has launched an extensive investigation, utilizing their Real Time Crime Center to track the suspects’ vehicle, which fled the scene shortly after the shooting. Authorities have issued a citywide alert for a white vehicle linked to the incident and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.

This incident has raised concerns about safety in the area, particularly for public figures and those flaunting wealth. Sauce Walka, who has a significant social media presence, faced criticism for sharing his location on Instagram, which some believe may have contributed to the targeted nature of the attack. As investigations continue, community leaders and fans alike are calling for an end to the senseless violence that has plagued the city.

The MPD has confirmed that they are pursuing multiple suspects involved in the robbery and shooting. As the investigation unfolds, many are left to ponder the implications of public visibility and security for artists navigating the complexities of fame and safety in urban environments. The Memphis community mourns the loss of SaysoP and hopes for a swift recovery for the injured.
