**BREAKING: 13 Dead, Dozens Missing in Chaotic Texas Floods**

In a devastating turn of events, at least 13 people have died, and dozens are unaccounted for following catastrophic flooding in Kerr County, Texas. The torrential rains, which began overnight, have left entire communities submerged, prompting urgent rescue operations as emergency responders race against time to save lives.

Acting Texas Governor Dan Patrick confirmed the grim death toll during a live briefing, stating that the situation is dire, with rescue teams deployed across the region. Eyewitness accounts describe scenes of chaos, with an entire RV park in Ingram swept downstream while families were still inside. The local sheriff reported an “extremely active scene,” urging residents near creeks and rivers to seek higher ground immediately.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood emergency as rainfall reached record levels, with estimates of 8 to 10 inches falling within just hours. The Guadalupe River has risen dramatically, endangering lives and properties along its banks. Meteorologist Pat Vesper emphasized that this flooding is among the worst the area has seen in decades, recalling the catastrophic floods of 1987.

Rescue efforts are ongoing, with 14 helicopters and hundreds of personnel deployed to locate those missing, particularly from Camp Mystic, where 23 children are currently unaccounted for. Governor Patrick urged the public to stay away from the area, stressing that additional drones or helicopters are not needed and could hinder rescue operations.

As the rain continues to fall, the urgency of the situation escalates. Officials are working tirelessly, but the threat of further flooding looms. With lives hanging in the balance, the community unites in hope and resilience, praying for the safe return of those still missing.
