Becky makes her final move in Coronation Street with horrifying consequences
Christmas is a time for families, and this Christmas in Coronation Street Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) is making final desperate moves to get her old family back together again.
Since Becky returned from the dead, it’s become increasingly apparent that she’ll do absolutely anything to be back with Lisa (Vicky Myers) again and live as a family with their daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin). The inconvenient fact that Lisa had moved on and found love with Carla Connor (Alison King) since her apparent death didn’t seem to deter her at all.

Nor did the fact that her old boss Costello (Daon Broni) wanted her away from Weatherfield and back in Spain, where she spent her ‘dead’ years.
Costello is worried that his involvement in Becky’s fake death will come back to haunt him and needs her out of the way. Becky refuses to get out of the way until she can take Lisa and Betsy with her.
When Costello was badly injured by an attacker, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) soon worked out that it was something to do with Becky. He soon shares this theory with Carla, who is knocking back alcohol at the factory to help her with the pain of breaking up with Lisa.
Kit soon finds out that Costello and his wife had bought a house in Coniston and he makes a note of the name. He discovers that the house was bought by a company that was set up exactly a week after Becky’s supposed death.
Just before Christmas, Lisa gets a text from Carla asking for her name to be taken off the mortgage – and then she sees a picture on Carla’s socials of her on holiday, sipping a cocktail. Lisa tries to hide how upset this makes her.
Becky tells her to forget about Carla, who has clearly moved on, and urges her to concentrate on enjoying Christmas. In a not-so-subtle move, Becky gives Lisa a neck massage and then kisses her neck, saying that there’s nothing now to stop them from getting back the life that they used to have together.
Soon after this, Lisa texts Carla saying she loves her and would do anything to win her back – so clearly Becky’s manoeuvres aren’t working as well as she’d hoped.

On Christmas Day there’s worrying news for Lisa. Roy (David Neilson) tells her that he’s tried to contact Carla in Lanzarote, but she never checked in to her hotel. By New Year’s Eve there’s still no word from Carla, and Sarah (Tina O’Brien) becomes concerned that she isn’t replying to her work emails. She tells Kit it’s very unlike Carla and she’s worried.
He decides that Costello might hold the key to Carla’s disappearance and gets Asha (Tanisha Gorey) to find out from the ambulance crew who attended him after he was attacked whether he said anything. She reports back that he kept saying three apparently random words, and Kit works out that it’s a map reference.
The trail goes cold at this point, though, as when Kit follows up the map reference and finds the flat, there’s nobody there. Kit visits Costello, hoping he’ll have more information, but again draws a blank. After Kit’s gone, sinister Becky emerges from the bathroom and thanks Costello for covering for her.
Has Becky done something to get rid of Carla?
Later, back at number 6, Becky is becoming frustrated at Lisa’s unwillingness to make the decision to leave for Spain. Lisa says she will make the move, but not until she’s seen Carla to explain things to her face to face.
Irritated by this, Becky decides to do something drastic to make Lisa’s mind up once and for all.
She takes some action that ends up having horrific consequences – and lives are in danger.
