Angelina Jolie was 6,000 miles away in China during the week of her 39th birthday.
But that doesn’t mean she didn’t celebrate. While promoting her Disney film in Shanghai on Tuesday, the fiancée of Brad Pitt was presented with a two-tier Maleficent-themed cake.
The Oscar winner also told the Associated Press that her birthday wish was for her brood: ‘Like every mother, my wish – every birthday – is for my children to stay healthy [and] for my family to remain healthy, so I will continue that.’

Wearing a sheer black dress and with her highlighted locks parted to the side, the mother of six looked much younger than her 39 years.
The LA native smiled happily as she leaned over the purple and black confection to blow out a gold candle.
The ex-wife of Billy Bob Thornton seemed captivated by the Maleficent doll – complete with horns – that sat on top of the dessert that was surrounded by pink and yellow roses.
People revealed she was not alone on her special day — Pitt was there as well with ‘three of their six children.’
‘They took in the city’s sights, enjoyed the local food and attended a dim sum class,’ the site claimed.
‘We love Chinese food anyway, so now we get to have authentic Chinese food,’ Angelina said. ‘They are having a wonderful time. Vivienne asked me not to go home today.’
A week ago Pitt had a run-in with notorious prankster Vitalii Sediuk at the Malificent premiere in Hollywood.
The actress insisted that ‘most fans are just wonderful’ as she dismissed the idea that the Jolie-Pitts would be beefing up security.
The movie hunk has said he was forced to defend himself after the Ukrainian television personality, 25, tried to ‘bury his face in my crotch.’
‘People like that are the exception to the rule,’ Angelina told E! as she promoted the Disney movie in Shanghai in China.
‘Most fans are just wonderful. We’ve had a wonderful experience over the years, and we’re very grateful for their support, and it will not change the way we behave.’
Sediuk was sentenced to 30 days in jail after attacking Brad, 50, at the premiere.
Pitt told People: ”I was at the end of the line signing autographs, when out the corner of my eye I saw someone stage-diving over the barrier at me.
‘I took a step back; this guy had latched onto my lapels.
‘I looked down and the nutter was trying to bury his face in my crotch, so I cracked him twice in the back of the head – not too hard – but enough to get his attention, because he did let go.
‘I think he was then just grabbing for a hand hold because the guys were on him, and he reached up and caught my glasses.’
The Moneyball star said he likes people to have fun, but argued Sediuk’s antics could end up spoiling glamorous Hollywood events for everyone else.
He said: ‘I don’t mind an exhibitionist but if this guy keeps it up he’s going to spoil it for the fans who have waited up all night for an autograph or a selfie, because it will make people more wary to approach a crowd.
‘And he should know, if he tries to look up a woman’s dress again, he’s going to get stomped.’
Sediuk was already on probation for jumping on stage with Jennifer Lopez when he jumped over a crowd barrier and struck Brad
He was charged with assault, battery, unlawful activity at an exhibition and delay of an exhibition, received the jail sentence plus 20 days community labor, 36 months probation and a $220 fine.
He must also stay 500 yards away from all red carpet events, movie events, and celebrity events in general and undergo court-ordered counseling.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were granted a protective order following the incident.
In footage from the scene, Brad is seen wearing sunglasses when the gate crasher lunges at him, and the Fight Club star bends down amid the scuffle.
Moments later when security guards step in, Pitt re-emerges without the glasses on his face, though he was not seriously injured in the altercation.
The actor was not standing near Jolie when the attack happened – she was in another section greeting her fans.
