If I were to ask you who the funniest man on the planet is, many of you would probably pick Kevin Hart. The Jumanji star is nothing short of a national treasure, bringing smiles and laughs alongside other big names like Dwayne Johnson and Will Ferrell. The funny man has been delighting viewers for years since he made the leap from comedian to hilarious actor. The Secret Life of Pets star’s most redeeming quality is that he does not take himself seriously, constantly making fun of his height and athletic ability. Whenever an interaction between Hart and someone like Dwayne Johnson or Shaquille O’Neil is caught on camera, it means immediate comedy gold!
Kevin Hart’s humble approach to himself and his career makes him one of the most likable people on film. His willingness to play “that guy with little man syndrome” keeps viewers glued to their screens. For this reason, Hart, often putting his safety aside, is not afraid to take on any challenge, even if it means going against professional athletes. However, the hilarious Get Hard actor may have bit off more than he can chew during a recent race with former NFL running back Stevan Ridley.
Kevin Hart Seen in Wheelchair After His NFL Race
According to CBS, Kevin Hart had to “learn the hard way not to challenge a former NFL running back to a race.” The 44-year-old Fatherhood lead gave it his all but ultimately ended up in a wheelchair after tearing his abdomen during the foot race. Being the hilarious alpha male he is, Hart and Stevan Ridley met to settle an argument over Instagram. The two competed in a 40-yard dash to see who would have the best time. Hart, not to be outdone, gave it his all, ultimately racking up a list of injuries he’d go on to later note on social media.
We get out there, we go run the 40-yard dash,” Hart said. “40-yard dash. Guys, I blew all my s–t. Tore my lower abdomen, my abductors. I don’t even know what that is, but I tore them. I tore those too. I can’t walk. Sit my a– down. This is 44.
As per usual, Kevin Hart hilariously approached his situation, but considering that he can’t even stand, it’s apparent that he went a little overboard this time. Although Hart is known for funny stunts like this, constantly trolling and playing jokes on long-term friends Shaq and Dwayne Johnson, this is the first time he’s experienced something like this. As we all know, the older we get, the less equipped our bodies are to handle physical activity, and it seems like the Night School star learned this the hard way.
Hart to Lead Cast of New Disney Christmas Film this Winter
Although Kevin Hart is a family name with features alongside actors like Jamie Foxx and Chris Rock in films like DC League of Super-Pets and Captain Underpants, surprisingly, he’s never done any exclusive work for Disney. However, a project that has been in the works since 2016 will finally place Hart amongst the likes of Dwayne Johnson and Johnny Depp as having finally worked for the entertainment giant. Dashing Through the Snow, a holiday film is currently scheduled for release on Disney+ this December, right in time for Christmas.
The 2023 release will take a fresh look at Christmas, telling the story of a divorced social worker who works for the Atlanta Police Department. The new holiday film will feature a heavily African-American cast, including Kevin Hart, Ludacris, Teyonah Parris, and Lil Rel Howery as Santa Claus. Although the project went into work in 2016, it’s just now coming to fruition, with many outside factors like COVID-19 to blame. However, Disney’s new holiday film is finally slated for release year just in time to celebrate Christmas.
This Isn’t the First Time Hart Has Had to Overcome Injury
In the fall of 2019, the Central Intelligence star suffered a severe injury after a devasting car accident. Hart underwent back surgery sustained during the wreck. Still, after an outpour of love and encouragement from fans and other Hollywood greats, he returned to the gym two months later, flooding Instagram with videos and photos of him getting back in shape. Although this latest incident doesn’t sound as serious as the comedian endured years ago, being confined to a wheelchair when you’re used to a life full of basketball and working out must be frustrating for Hart. However, we’re confident that Kevin can make a full recovery and we look forward to seeing him on Disney+ this winter. Best of luck!
