Tom Cruise contentedly scoffed some popcorn as he watched himself portray Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One this week.

The acting icon, 61,  looked relaxed as he chowed down on the sweet treat next to director Christopher McQuarrie, 54, in front of a signed poster of the film.

The star wrote: ‘We have worked on this film for years and it’s finally in theaters. We hope you love it as much as we loved making it for you.

‘Thank you for continuing to support the Mission: Impossible films.’

The stuntman extraordinaire has been making waves with his incredible acts of bravery in the film, including riding a motorcycle off a cliff without a safety harness.

This comes after Cruise’s co-star Hayley Atwell, who portrays a thief that accidentally finds herself in the middle of a high-stakes mission in their new movie, raved about his ‘very thoughtful’ presents.

‘I’m on my fourth Christmas cake,’ the actress told People. ‘I’ve had a few birthdays as well because we’ve been working together nearly, what, over three and a half years now.’

In addition to becoming an annual recipient of one of his coconut cakes from Doan’s Bakery, which he sends to roughly 300 Hollywood insiders every year including Tom Hanks and Kirsten Dunst, she recalled the father-of-three, 61, gifting her ‘beautiful old clay pot, which is a natural filtering system.’

‘I’m like, ‘It’s a water jug. Nice,’ ‘ she gushed. ‘And then you taste it and you compare it to normal filtered water or tap water, and it’s really light and kind of creamy. It’s just a different level of clarity. It’s beautiful.’

Meanwhile, Pom Klementieff, whose portrays an assassin hunting Cruise’s character in their upcoming film, divulged that she received ‘the lessons of learning how to skydive’ from Cruise as a ‘wrap gift.’

‘He found a teacher for me and I learned how to skydive and I got my license and we even did jumps together. And now I’m addicted, so that’s my new thing now!’ she revealed.

While speaking about his famous coconut cake, Cruise said she freezes it so she can ‘eat it every day.’

‘That’s what I did last year for Christmas. I started it when I got it and I ate it every morning, so I had a sugar rush. It was not good for my health, but it was delicious,’ she mused.

Simon Pegg, who first met Cruise back in 2006 while filming the third installment of Mission: Impossible, said that his longtime pal is ‘always very keen to show his appreciation.’

‘I think he’s so used to being the focus of attention, it’s naturally his instinct to kind of reflect everything back. And he’s always incredibly sort of generous in terms of his gratitude to us and how he thanks us and how he lets us know that we’re valued,’ he speculated.

During a break from set, the English actor, 53, said that Cruise treated their cast to a shark-diving trip.

‘We were filming somewhere near some coastal waters where there were sharks and we had the afternoon off and we all jumped,’ says Pegg.

He continued: ‘It’s such a Tom Cruise thing. We’ve been filming in a helicopter and he flew us in the helicopter to this place where you could go into a cage and feed sharks.’

‘It was one of those days that we got to the end of the day and we were like, ‘That was a real Tom Cruise kind of day,’ Pegg told the outlet.

Selling for $126 each, the White Chocolate Coconut Bundt Cake from Doan’s Bakery in Woodland Hills has been dubbed the ‘Tom Cruise cake’ by many of the stars who have been lucky enough to receive one in the post.

‘It is extravagant, but Tom is an incredibly generous person and he wanted to do something special for everyone who has worked on the movie with him.’

Every festive season, the Oscar nominee gifts his friends, fellow Hollywood stars, journalists and executives the highly-coveted treats from the California bakery.

This particular Bundt cake was created in 1984 by bakery founder Karen Doan, 79, with chunks of white chocolate, a layer of cream cheese frosting along with toasted coconut flakes on top.
