The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Coronation Street dated July 29. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX and YouTube.

Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) father, Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield), has unleashed a deadly threat to Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) ahead of her Coronation Street exit.

Ross arrived in Weatherfield a couple of weeks ago after Ruby Dobbs (Billie Naylor) and Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) managed to track him down via a DNA website.

What Ross failed to share with Tyrone and his family is that a few hours prior to being on the cobbles, he was with Ty’s mum Cassie.

At the Chariot Square Hotel, Cassie got chatting to Ross and enjoyed a few drinks with him, however, as she consumed more and more alcohol, Ross’ dark side began to emerge.

Failing to recognise who she was sat next to, Cassie was horrified when Ross suddenly started spouting vile comments about how embarrassing she was being. After Ross signed the bar tab and left, Cassie glanced at the bill and realised she had just spent time with Tyrone’s dad.

While Tyrone’s family have been getting to know Ross, Cassie has deeply struggled to see them all fall for his charm. Everything came to a head in today’s episode of the ITV soap, as Cassie couldn’t handle everyone celebrating Ross’ birthday.

Outside the house, Cassie spoke to Tyrone about how she met Ross when she was 15. She confirmed that he paid to have sex with her, which resulted in her falling pregnant.

Tyrone went to confront Ross, but believed the lies he told about how he’s a changed man. When they returned home, Ross asked for another chance.

A reluctant Cassie said yes, which meant Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) had no issue agreeing.

Sadly, this entire thing was an act. Outside, while Cassie was alone, Ross approached her and pinned her against the wall.

Ross told Cassie that if she comes between him and Tyrone again, he’ll kill her.

With Claire Sweeney’s exit from Coronation Street looming, this was a very worrying moment.

Is Ross going to kill Cassie to prevent Tyrone from turning his back on him?

Just what is this man capable of?
