Hayden Panettiere’s “Second Mother” Speaks Out—And Says the Actress “Never Stood a Chance”...

In a heart-wrenching revelation, a lifelong friend of Hayden Panettiere has expressed her deep sorrow over the actress’s untimely death, stating that the pressures of growing up in Hollywood left her with little chance to overcome her personal struggles. Linsey Lonberg, who affectionately referred to herself as Panettiere’s “second mother,” shared her thoughts on the tragic circumstances surrounding the star’s life.

Lonberg, who has known Hayden since she was a child in Rockland County, New York, conveyed her belief that the actress’s battle with depression and addiction was, unfortunately, a foreseeable outcome of her early fame. Speaking to the Daily Mail at a local bar in Piermont, where Panettiere’s father resides, Lonberg reflected on the challenges the actress faced, saying, “She tried so hard to move past her struggles, but the environment she was in made it incredibly difficult.”

The 73-year-old Lonberg revealed that the entertainment industry was rife with temptations, noting, “On set, there are all sorts of pills and alcohol readily available. It’s a dangerous world for someone so young.” She lamented that Panettiere, who had immense talent, was caught in a cycle that made her vulnerable to addiction.

In her memoir, “This Is Me: A Reckoning,” Panettiere opened up about her experiences, including being offered drugs at just 15 years old. Her struggles escalated over the years, leading her to seek treatment in 2020, where doctors warned her about the severe risks of her drinking habits.

A resurfaced interview from the past also shed light on a traumatic experience Panettiere faced at 18, where she spoke about being betrayed by someone she trusted and being subjected to a disturbing situation involving a well-known figure.

Lonberg reminisced about the joyful moments she shared with Hayden and her brother Jansen, who tragically passed away earlier this year. She expressed her heartbreak for Hayden’s father, Alan “Skip” Panettiere, who is now grappling with the loss of both his children. “I can’t fathom the pain he must be feeling,” she said, highlighting the profound sorrow enveloping the family.

As the entertainment world mourns the loss of a bright star, many are left wondering how Hollywood can better protect its young talents from the shadows that often accompany fame. What changes need to be made to ensure that no more lives are lost to the pressures of the industry?
