Jay-Z’s Maybach Exelero: What You Should Know

Jay-Z’s Maybach Exelero has an insanely-high price tag of $8 million.

Jay-Z and Beyonce have an extensive car collection that supersedes the ‘normal’ realm of celebrity cars.

With over 15 vehicles, this collection ranges from family-friendly vehicles to the souped-up and sleek convertibles that they are often seen traveling the world in. With both musicians having extremely successful careers in the music industry, their fame has led them directly to fortune, which can clearly be seen by their luxurious and expensive taste in cars.

Let’s take a look at Jay-Z’s Maybach Exelero – what it is, and what you should know about it

Maybach Exelero – What Is It?

The Maybach Exelero was a one-time high-performance sports car. This means that this car was manufactured only once around the world – and obviously drives up the asking price for this vehicle and the rare quality associated with the Exelero. It was made by Stola after collaborating with DaimlerChrysler. Stola was an Italian automotive company founded in 1919 that now is a part of Blutec, a company that has taken over the former FIAT Factory and other car companies.

Development of The Exelero

The idea of the Exelero was to test Goodyear’s new Carat Exelero tire range, being the second-ever vehicle to show as a one-off car for the high-performance range of tires. After collaborating with Maybach, the initial design was to be based on the Maybach SW 38, and constructed on the base of the Maybach 57. The Maybach 57 was one of the first models created by the Maybach brand after the merger with DaimlerChrysler.

Another important feature of the Maybach Exelero was that the car needed to reach at least 217 miles per hour so that the Exelero tires could be put to the limit, which was the point of the car in the first place.

Specifications Of The Exelero
There are certain qualities of the Exelero which has made it an extremely expensive vehicle, and also a car that could reach the qualifications set forth in order to accurately test the tires.

Powertrain

The Exelero was powered by a V12 twin-turbo engine made by Maybach that is mounted at 60 degrees. Each cylinder has 3 valves, and the engine produces 725 pounds of torque at 2500 RPM. The engine has a 5G-Tronic automatic transmission. The Exelero can reach 218 miles per hour and can accelerate from 0-62 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds.

The wheels of the Exelero are alloy wheels with a 23-inch diameter at both the front and rear of the tire. The tires are Fulda Carat Exeleros, which were the specific tires that needed testing, spurring the creation of the Exelero. The tires contain codes of 315/25 ZR 23 for both the front and rear, with the codes specifying the dimensions and limitations of the tires themselves. The brakes are discs at both the front and back, and the car also features ABS for added safety – this mechanism prevents the wheels from locking up during braking.

Interior Style
The majority of materials used in the car’s interior are dark and red leather. The car contains carbon fiber and aluminum accents, creating a luxurious and sporty look that has red harness-style seat belts for an added flare.

Jay-Z and The Maybach Exelero

Jay-Z’s Maybach Exelero has an insanely-high price tag quoted at $8 million. His car is reminiscent of an all blacked-out sports car that could pass as the Batmobile. He used his famous vehicle in one of his music videos for the song ‘Lost One.’ After selling over 50 million albums in his career, winning 14 Grammy Awards, and owning the Brookly Nets, I guess you can afford an $8 million car for a music video.
