MrBeast says that he refused OceanGate’s invitation to join the expedition with the Titan submersible: ‘Thinking back, it’s still scary’.

Recently, famous YouTube content creator Jimmy “MrBeast” revealed that he was invited to be one of the passengers on the OceanGate submersible Titan.

On Twitter, MrBeast posted a screenshot of a text message he received, presumably from one of the passengers. The message explained the submarine’s journey to the famous Titanic wreck site and the YouTuber’s desire to invite him along.

OceanGate Titan has been the subject of widespread media coverage following its disappearance earlier this week. Debris from the submersible was later found, suggesting that it likely exploded during the descent, killing all five passengers instantly.

Fans have reacted to MrBeast’s tweet, with many expressing relief that the popular YouTuber turned down his invitation to board the ill-fated submersible.

“Earlier this month, I was invited to go on the Titanic, but I said no. It’s scary that I could be up there,” MrBeast shared.

MrBeast declines the invitation to join OceanGate Titan
The tragedy of OceanGate Titan has been the subject of widespread media coverage over the past week. The submersible, designed by US diving company OceanGate, exploded as it landed on the site of the famous wreck of the RMS Titanic.

The submersible was designed to fit just five people on the expedition. They paid $250,000 to travel by submersible in the hope of seeing the Titanic with their own eyes. Titan has made several successful trips down to the wreckage area before. However, this time it exploded under the pressure, possibly due to wear after many runs.

MrBeast was invited to this tour, presumably by one of the passengers who died in the explosion. The YouTuber immediately refused. Although he did not give a reason for declining the invitation, MrBeast may have been aware of potential safety risks from the submersible’s design.

The YouTuber shared the invitation he received via text message with his Twitter followers. Many expressed relief that he was not among the Titan’s five passengers.

Although some people have analyzed the potential to create new and extremely unique content or be able to stream live when seeing the Titanic, MrBeast believes that the risk is too great. Others questioned what would happen if he were involved and how different media coverage would be if a YouTuber with more than 162 million subscribers suddenly went missing.

It was indeed fortunate that MrBeast declined the invitation. This is definitely one of the best decisions in this YouTuber’s life.
