MrBeast is known for creating some of the most expensive content out there.
But now he’s worried his most recent project could actually financially ruin him.
Besides his outrageous challenges and stunts, the YouTuber has earned a reputation for being a philanthropist.
Since going viral for gifting a homeless man $10,000 in 2018, he’s continued to give away huge chunks of his fortune.
He has donated $2.7 million worth of clothing to people in need and paid for 1,000 blind people to have their vision restored.
But he’s faced criticisms for these feats, with some saying he has a ‘god complex’.
And his latest project isn’t doing much to dispute that.
It’s been revealed that MrBeast bought a grocery store with a specific challenge in mind.
He challenged a ‘random person’ to live in the grocery store for as long as he could.
And for every day he stays inside, MrBeast said he would pay him $10,000.
It seems the YouTuber underestimated the staying power this guy had though.
“It’s been weeks and he shows no signs of ever leaving,” MrBeast said.
We don’t know details like whether he has access to the outside world or not, or what the conditions are like inside the store.
What we do know is that the windows of the store are blacked out and the door is locked.
So far the man has lasted a month, which means he’s earned at least $300,000.
Many are pointing out that the content creator should have done a bit more research before starting this experiment.
A scientist has shown that one adult could last 55 years off the food in a grocery store alone.
One user on X / Twitter kindly did the maths and calculated that one year would set him back $3.6 million.
“He need a roommate?” one person asked.
But some say that kind of money is just a drop in the ocean for MrBeast.
“The video of this story alone can generate more than that for him so there is nothing to sweat about,” one said.
It depends on how long the guy can survive before we’ll be able to see the video of this project.
But the YouTube star can’t be too worried about his fortune as he just announced another social experiment.
He’s built a room and invited two people to stay in it for 100 days.
If they survive, they win $500,000.
But if just one of them leaves before the 100 days are up, they both lose.
His replies are already full of people volunteering themselves for the experiment.
