The stately home was the venue of King George III’s coronation banquet in 1761.

He was just 22 when he was crowned and went on to reign for over 59 years – the longest of any male monarch, and surpassed only by Queens Victoria and Elizabeth II.

George III was known as the Mad King due to his mental illness which was suggested to be bipolar disorder or the blood disease porphyria.

Albury Park has also served as a location in several television programmes and films.

Midsomer Murders have used the grounds and house – and the estate also featured in the 1994 British romantic comedy Four Weddings And A Funeral when Andie MacDowell’s character Carrie marries Hamish at St Peter and St Paul’s church which is on the same estate as Albury Park.
