Travis Kelce is no stranger to big gestures – but when it comes to his romance with Taylor Swift, it seems the NFL star is willing to spare no expense.
From lavish getaways and private jet trips to watch the singer perform to over-the-top gifts and sweet gestures, it has now been estimated that the football pro has spent a whopping $8 million on his months-long romance with the pop princess.
The football player’s relationship with the singer, which kicked off in September, has completely captured the nation – but being with one of the top superstars on the globe comes at a steep price.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end, 34 – who is currently in the third year of a four-year contract worth $57 million, earning him roughly $14 million a year – is said to have dished out millions of his hard-earned dollars on impressing the Grammy Award-winning pop sensation, 34, over the course of the six months that they’ve been together.
According to the New York Post, the amount that the sports star has dropped on purchases related to his romance with Taylor totals a whopping $8 million.
The publication claimed that Travis spent around $22,000 on Valentine’s Day gifts for the Cruel Summer songstress alone.
This are said to have included a slew of designer clothes and accessories, a $3,050 24-karat gold rose sculpture from the luxury furniture company Perigold, and two boxes of 250 roses ‘eternity’ roses, which are said to last up to a year and cost $2,199 each.
‘Travis knows what she likes and is always wanting to send her lots of nice flowers. [Now], Taylor can have the little rose sculpture with her all the time,’ a source previously told The Sun of Travis’ thoughtful presents.
And it didn’t end there. It was also reported that he gifted her a $1,050 black lambskin Dior beret, a $1,100 Celine hat, a $5,100 Bottega Veneta purse, and a $1,300 Hermès Chevaux Dechaines shawl.
Last but not least, the athlete got himself and Taylor, whose net worth is estimated to be $1.1 billion, custom matching bracelets with the letters TNT – standing for Taylor ‘n’ Travis – written in diamond-encrusted gold beads.
Jeweler Wove Made Inc. is said to have spent days making the jewelry pieces for Travis, which cost $6,360 each.
The outlet added that Travis has already forked over $1.2 million on private jet rides so that he could support his girlfriend at her shows.
Back in November, he jetted from Kansas to Argentina to see her perform; he stayed with her for the weekend before he rushed back to make it to practice Monday morning, and the quick trip reportedly cost him around $300,000.
Last month, Travis flew all the way around the world to Sydney, Australia, to attend Taylor’s Eras Tour, and Aviation specialist Michael Giordan told Page Six that the price of a jet on the route he took was around $340,000.
The couple spared no expense on their digs during the romantic weekend, staying at one of Sydney’s swankiest and most extravagant resorts – the Crown Hotel.
With upscale restaurants, extravagant facilities, and high-end amenities throughout the property, the venue boasts a guaranteed luxurious experience.
It comes as no surprise that the stars opted for the most glamorous – and priciest – room the hotel has to offer: the Crown Presidential Villa, which typically starts at an eye-watering $16,300 a night – however, it’s likely that Taylor paid for this.
The 860-square-foot, two-story hotel room is situated on the 88th floor, and features a stunning panoramic views of Sydney and Sydney Harbour through its floor-to-ceiling windows.
The first floor boasts an expansive living area, kitchen, bar, pool table, and a media room for entertaining.
A dining room comfortably hosts up to 10 people, and there is also a fully equipped office and butler’s quarters.
Meanwhile, the second floor includes a spectacular master bedroom and a spacious bathroom complete with a marble spa bath and steam shower, as well as a second king-size bedroom with a deluxe ensuite.
There’s even a fitness room – which comes complete with infrared sauna – and an open-air terrace with its own heated, private infinity pool.
Travis was also in the audience when she hit the stage in Singapore a few weeks later, and it was said that he spent another $570,000 on traveling back and forth to the Asian country.
When Taylor attended the Super Bowl in mid-February, it was reported that Travis dropped another $1 million to rent out a private suite for her to watch in top-notch luxury.
She was joined in the VIP suite by her parents, her brother and his girlfriend, and her elite celebrity friends including Ice Spice, Blake Lively, and Lana Del Rey, as well as many of Travis’ family members.
By far Travis’ greatest expense, however, was the new home he felt the need to buy after he started dating the hitmaker.
He bought a 17,000-square-foot mansion in the Kansas City suburb of Leawood for $6 million, after his $1 million house reportedly made him feel ‘self-conscious.’
His new abode comes with six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a ‘Beverly Hills-style’ pool, a garage with space for six cars, a tennis and pickleball court, a miniature golf course, a wine cellar, a two-level cinema room, and a substantial garden to give him and Taylor ‘extra privacy’ from fans and the media.
A relationship expert named Christine Bacon told the Telegraph recently that Travis may have found that gift-giving is his ‘love language,’ but that the urge will likely pass once the honeymoon stage subsides.
‘In the infatuation stage, we’re going to do things that are grander gestures,’ she explained.
‘Both the giver and the recipient should understand that it has a lifespan and it will come down to something more normal, and they also need to understand when it does stop, they should not feel that the person’s love has stopped as well.
‘Kelce may have found that gift-giving is his language of love but that urge will pass.’
After a wild six-months filled with busy schedules, constant traveling, and cameras surrounding their every move, Taylor and Travis have been living a more low-key lifestyle out of the spotlight since his football season ended and she finished the latest leg of her Eras Tour in March.
And while it seems they’re doing their best to stay hidden, they haven’t cut back on their opulent spending.
It was rumored that they had taken a vacation to the Bahamas earlier this month – after popular gossip Instagram account DeuxMoi posted alleged photos of them on the Caribbean island – and they were spotting dining at the luxurious Bird Streets Club in Los Angeles over the weekend.
The private club is known for hosting A-listers such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothee Chalamet, and Bruno Mars.
A source told Us Weekly recently that the pair are currently ‘nesting’ in her $25 million Beverly Hills mansion as they enjoy a pause in their careers.
‘They are enjoying movie nights in her home theater, catching up on films and shows they’ve missed,’ said the insider.
‘They can finally rest and intend on spending quality time together and with friends and family.
‘This is the first time the two of them have had no commitments and they are both really looking forward to being a normal couple and playing house.’
