As the hugely popular Mr. Beast is inching towards billionaire status, a dekko inside his pad has sent shockwaves through viewers while simultaneously revealing an uncanny resemblance to tech billionaire Elon Musk. In true maverick flair, Jimmy Donaldson has exhibited a passion for his work by turning his home into an office or vice versa. Either way, the YouTuber with a following of 300 million subscribers lives in a no-bedroom studio that shares a wall with the room where he conducts business. The benevolent content creator, who was a guest on the latest episode of the “Howie Mandel Does Stuff” podcast last week, showed the host, Howie Mandel, around his production facility in Greenville, N.C.
It is here where the host found his humble studio apartment where he lives and works. Tesla Boss Elon Musk did the same a few years ago when he famously shared images of a modest prefabricated home in Boca Chica, Texas on one occasion. He also admitted to sometimes sleeping on the floor of a Tesla factory in solidarity with his employees. Coming back to Mr. Beast’s den, it is certainly not what you expect for someone earning $82 million annually, per Variety.
His bed practically begins where the living room ends. The living room is also not your aesthetic space but looks rather technical like a complete computer setup. The only other rooms in the unit are a bathroom and a closet. It is hard to believe this is the abode of the man who invites high-profile guests on million-dollar megayachts. He once had Tom Brady over on a $300 million superyacht for a YouTube video. The humble home does flaunt several images of his idol Apple founder Steve Jobs and his quotes which make for the very literary decor.
Donaldson said, “Sometimes when my girlfriend’s in town, I’ll go to a house. But, it’s much easier to stay here because I don’t have to drive a lot,” he told Mandel. He added that he’s hosted Tom Brady, Justin Timberlake, and many other celebrities in that apartment. MrBeast, the most-followed individual on YouTube, was featured on the Forbes 2023 Top Creators List. Donaldson is also gearing to sell a small stake in his studio.
According to Forbes, just 10% of his stake could net him $150 million, which would make Donaldson the world’s first billionaire YouTuber as his 90% stake would be worth $1.4 billion. He also recently grabbed headlines not for another multi-million stunt but for partnering with Amazon Prime Video for a new game show titled Beast Games. The show will air in 240 countries and offer its winner $5 million in cash, per The Sun.
