In a surprising turn of events, Dr. Avram Mack, the psychiatrist who found himself at the center of a heated courtroom exchange during the Lindsay Clancy trial, has reportedly left his position at Nemours Children’s Health. This resignation came on the very day he provided testimony in the high-profile case that has captivated the nation.
According to sources, Nemours confirmed on Friday that Dr. Mack is no longer with the organization but refrained from providing further details, citing confidentiality regarding employment matters.
Dr. Mack, who was called as a witness for the prosecution, acknowledged that Clancy was experiencing severe psychiatric distress on January 24, 2023, when she tragically took the lives of her three children—Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan—in their Duxbury, Massachusetts home. However, he maintained that she should still be held accountable for her actions.
During cross-examination, Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, pressed Dr. Mack on whether the former nurse was in a state of psychosis at the time of the incident. Mack reportedly found no documentation of psychotic symptoms in her medical history, leading to a tense exchange where Reddington called out the psychiatrist for smirking during questioning.
