Legend is selling Palm Beach Gardens home she originally shared with sister Serena – after buying it for £415k in 1988.
IT comes with plenty of overheads, but Venus Williams needs no spin to sell her £2.1m Florida mansion.
The tennis legend originally shared the 8,500-square-foot home with sister Serena after paying “just” £415k for it in 1988.
Admirers of the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom property might think they can play hard ball and drive the asking price below the £2m mark.
But five-time Wimbledon Venus, 38, can afford to be patient – as her revival on the court last year took her net worth to around £75m.
Williams has also put a lot of love into the two-storey house after spending two years building it.
Serena, 37, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, then moved out to live nearby.
So strong connections will remain around the Palm Beach County area for two of the greatest siblings in sporting history, who were born and bred in California.
Venus’ mansion is on the BallenIsles Country Club, an exclusive (of course) gated golf community.
An open floor plan inside the Palm Beach Gardens home boasts soaring high ceilings with windows all the way up to the top.
The main living rooms are also well above par, featuring marble floors.
A host of lounges and dining areas are supported by an extravagant kitchen, a cosy home cinema adorned with tennis trophies, a large gym and a juice bar.
Perhaps the silverware will not stay for the new owner, but you or I could always replace it with our framed winning tombola tickets and Blue Peter badges.
Apart from four private guest en-suite bedrooms on the second floor and all the plush bathrooms, there are also two “half-bathrooms”.
And on opposite wings of the first floor there are two master bedroom suites, complete with bathrooms and separate offices.
Outside, the home is, predictably, just as sporty and spacy.
Next to 5000-square-feet of terracing, sit a gazebo, a resort-like pool and spa, and a man-made lake.
Smashing!
