With money comes the satisfaction of spending it.
And Sir Mick Jagger is clearly a fan after reportedly splashing out more than £1 million on a property for his girlfriend this Christmas.
The Rolling Stones frontman, 77, has bought a four bedroom Florida property for ballet dancer Melanie Hamrick.
Sir Mick is said to have paid $1.9 million (£1.4 million) for the house in late October, with the title put in Miss Hamrick’s name, according to real estate firm Michael Saunders & Company who sold the home.
Tina Ciaccio, the listing agent, said the couple didn’t even visit the home before buying.
Speaking to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, she said: ‘It was very cool hearing Mick Jagger’s voice over the phone; that was neat. But regardless, they really were a pleasure, a great couple to transact with.’
The property sits on roughly a third of an acre in the planned community of Lakewood Ranch, according to the publication, and is situated next to a lake with nearly 8,400 square feet (780 square meters) under the roof.
US chat show host Jerry Springer, horror writer Stephen King and AC/DC singer Brian Johnson also own properties in Sarasota.
The couple are said to have chosen the home for its privacy and to be close to Miss Hamrick’s family.
Sir Mick, who is worth an estimated £285 million, shares four-year-old son, Devereaux, with Miss Hamrick, 34, whom he met in 2014 following the death of his girlfriend L’Wren Scott.
A source told US publication Page Six that they are currently ‘happy playing house in all of Mick’s properties around the world’.
The singer also owns property on the private island of Mustique as well as Los Angeles and a 16th century French castle, La Fourchette, where he quarantined during the pandemic.
In September the Rolling Stones became the first band to top the chart across six different decades with the reissue of their 1973 album Goats Head Soup.
