Lewis Hamilton produced an extremely solid drive during the British GP.
The race at Silverstone had all the ingredients to be considered the race of the 2024 season. Mercedes locked out the front row as George Russell led the charge from the front. However, the race soon turned upside down as Lewis Hamilton emerged as the lead car and took the chequered flag. After being emotional for the subsequent victory lap, he hugged his mother, Carmen Larbalestier in the parc ferme.
The race started with his teammate leading into turn one. However, the weather was dicey and required the drivers to be on the right tires at the right time. One of them was Lewis Hamilton, who made the most out of his situation, displaying his vast experience in the treacherous weather.
After his teammate had retired, the responsibility was on the 39-year-old’s shoulders, who fulfilled them with flying colors as he won the British GP for a record-breaking ninth time.

Hamilton took a moment to experience the win and draped the Union Jack flag around himself. He then hugged his mother, Carmen Larbalestier conveying the emphasis of the moment, and rejoiced in his victory around his home track.
Lewis Hamilton was also seen hugging his father
While he was spotted hugging his mother, his father, Anthony Hamilton had also been a major part of his journey to the pinnacle of motor racing. Anthony had worked multiple jobs to fund his son’s racing career and was even there when the 39-year-old won his seventh world championship.
Hamilton was subsequently seen hugging his father as tears rolled down in an emotional interaction.

Anthony Hamilton is known for his presence in the F1 paddock. Moreover, when he saw the seven-time world champion win his home race for the ninth time, his joy was similar to when his son had won the race for the first time in 2008.
Apart from this, Hamilton would have gained a boost in confidence as this was his first win since 2021. Thus, the battle at the sharp end tightens even more as the reigning champion’s lead in the standings seems to be in danger.
