Roman Reigns has faced several WWE legends throughout his career. A WWE Hall of Famer believes The Original Tribal Chief would soon square off against another legend in what could become ‘the best match of all time.’
The legend in question is none other than The Rock. Although The Final Boss initially returned to the Stamford-based company earlier this year to face Reigns at WrestleMania 40, plans changed following the fans’ backlash over Cody Rhodes’ position. Instead, the Hollywood megastar joined The Bloodline and teamed up with his cousin to defeat The American Nightmare and Seth Rollins in a tag team match on night one of the Show of Shows. Despite that, Hall of Famer Mark Henry believes The Rock and The Original Tribal Chief will eventually go head-to-head.
The World’s Strongest Man claimed on the Busted Open podcast that the possible match has the potential to become ‘the best of all time,’ pointing out that neither will be holding a championship:
“That might be the match that takes over as the best match of all time. It’s got the potential. And neither one of them will have a title. [Yeah, because it’s real and it’s about family.] Yeah,” he said.
Mark Henry thinks The Rock would return to WWE to become The Tribal Chief
While Roman Reigns went on hiatus following his loss to Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania 40, Solo Sikoa took control of The Bloodline and appointed himself the new Tribal Chief. The former enforcer claimed Reigns would have to acknowledge him upon his return.
The Original Tribal Chief returned at SummerSlam to attack his cousin. They have since been fighting over the Ula Fala, The Bloodline’s leadership symbol. Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry claimed The Rock is the happiest person with Reigns and Sikoa elevating the value of the Ula Fala, claiming The Final Boss will return to put it around his neck and become The Tribal Chief himself:
“You know who is praying and hoping for the success in the vying of the Ula Fala more than anybody, including Roman Reigns? The Rock. He’s like, ‘Go on, build it up. Build it up, because it’s gonna come a day, Roman, where the tire is gonna meet the road and I’m gonna have the Ula Fala around my neck because I am The Tribal Chief.’ He already said it, that he was the business. Come on Jonathan, that goes beyond I’m the champion. I am the business,” he said.
Video: Still processing this. 😮💨🔥
The Final Boss previously teased having ‘the biggest match of all time’ at WWE WrestleMania 41. It will be interesting to see if it would be him against The Original Tribal Chief for the leadership of The Bloodline.
