The speedy rookie was all over the field against the Ravens

The Kansas City Chiefs have been a force for the last few years, but there was an area that needed much improvement. The wide receiver position was the main skill position that lacked some talent, at least that the one showed in other areas of the team.

Head coach Andy Reid has a real weapon now in rookie wideout Xavier Worthy. The standout out of Texas showed off his skills during the first game of the season against the Baltimore Ravens and everyone is noticing.

He is Kansas City’s biggest bet this year and so far in one game it has paid off. He had two touchdowns in just two plays on the field, which shows his speed, and it seems that Andy Reid enjoys using him.

The league has learned about him

Andy Reid has another guy to confuse his rivals on every play and that speed that Xavier Worthy showed since the NFL Scouting Combine is really threatening. In case the NFL did not know about it, the head coach of the Chiefs made sure they found out fast.

“They honored his speed for sure with how they played when he was in,” Reid said during a press conference about how the Ravens played against him. “The impact, other than the plays he made, I thought he did a nice job there. He showed that he can not only go down the field when needed, I know it was a busted coverage, he can do that.”

This is something that the rest of the league needs to address when facing the Chiefs, because just like the coach said, he is fast. “He does have that speed and versatility going across the middle, he had a nice grab across the middle. Obviously, the teams we play will see that, they didn’t know it before, they know it now,” Andy Reid added.n
