BRIT International Song of the Year Goes to Chappell Roan, Not Eminem

The BRITs added another name to their International Song of the Year winners list, and once again, it was not a male artist.

Eminem’s “Houdini” had been Eminem’s most successful single in years, but it was not enough to secure a win at the 2025 BRIT Awards. The track was nominated for International Song of the Year, marking Eminem’s 12th career nomination at the BRITs and his first since 2019.

Marshall has already taken home four BRIT Awards, including International Album of the Year for “The Eminem Show” (2003) and three wins for International Male Solo Artist (2001, 2003, 2005). But this time, the award went to Chappell Roan for her viral hit “Good Luck, Babe!” — continuing a trend that has yet to see a single male winner in the category, which was first introduced to the BRITs in 2022.

So, while we knew that “Houdini” had tough competition from artists like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Beyoncé, it was always an uphill battle for Eminem. Chappell Roan has been on a winning streak, recently taking home Best New Artist at the Grammys and also securing International Artist of the Year at the BRITs.

A male winner in the International Song of the Year category? Maybe better luck next time.
