The photo was taken off the banks of the Rio Negrinho Pantanal, Brazil, the lively current providing a fantastic breeding ground for sea life.
45-year-old Massimiliano Bencivenni was lucky enough to get the photo at the exact moment, before it was all over in a flash.
Massimiliano, who lives in Spoleto, Umbria, said: “It was over in an instant.
“I could see what was happening and thought, ‘I need to act fast’.
“It was incredible.”
