Manchester United player ratings as Andre Onana and Marcus Rashford good vs Borussia Dortmund

Man United lost to Borussia Dortmund in their final pre-season tour game in Las Vegas and here are how the players rated.

Antony scored

Tom Heaton

Had a fulfilling first half until Donyell Malen pounced twice in as many minutes to put Dortmund ahead. Came off at half time. 6

Diogo Dalot

Scored a superb curling goal; a timely reminder he is the more adventurous and productive right-back. 7

Victor Lindelof

Heaton and Brandon Williams rowed but the culprit for Malen’s second goal was Lindelof, who attempted a pass that was not on. 5

Harry Maguire

Booed by a tiny minority, he had a mixed first half and was rollocked by Andre Onana early in the second. His last act was almost an own goal. 5

Brandon Williams

Skinned for the first goal, he rowed with Heaton after the second. Was involved in some slick attacking sequences. 6

Scott McTominay

Captain for the night but pathetically dived in a duel with Niklas Sule. Took a back seat as the forwards combined. 6

Christian Eriksen

A conduit between the defence and the attack that underpinned United’s dominant first 40 minutes. Came off after an hour, as is his wont. 6

Facundo Pellistri

Played on the left and bright on a rare first-team start but his end product was occasionally erratic. 6

Donny van de Beek

Involved in some promising interplay in the final third as the No.10 and took up some good positions. 7

Omari Forson

Was enjoying his most confident appearance with United until he kicked out at Julian Ryerson and tangled with Karim Adeyemi. He was booked and then substituted in the 37th minute. Got a detailed debrief from Ten Hag. 5

Jadon Sancho

A worthy focal point as he continued through the middle. Could have had a goal if his teammates’ service was better and stayed on beyond the hour. 6

Subs

Antony

A surprising substitute, he calmly equalised early in the second half but missed a good chance on the rebound. 6

Andre Onana

Pinged his first pass effortlessly and made a brilliant save from Sebastian Haller. 7

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Poor at both ends. 5

Jonny Evans

Played on the right side of central defence and had a header at goal. 6

Lisandro Martinez

Untroubled. 6

Luke Shaw

A bit sloppy. 5

Mason Mount

Played some praiseworthy passes. 6

Casemiro

Sharper than in Houston. 6

Bruno Fernandes

Often involved. 6

Marcus Rashford

Teed up Wan-Bissaka for a chance and better back on the left. 7

Joe Hugill

Squandered a late one-on-one. 5
