LATEST NEWS: West Ham’s £60 million offers for Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay were turned down by Man United

Manchester United have rejected offers from West Ham for Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay after their combined bid for the stars, talkSPORT understands.

The Red Devils duo have both been heavily linked with switches to the east London outfit this summer.

West Ham have reignited their efforts to sign Maguire this summer
And they’re also interested in McTominay too

After making just eight Premier League starts last season, Maguire lost the club captaincy to Bruno Fernandes in July.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are the preferred centre-back pairing, and even left-back Luke Shaw has played in the role ahead of Maguire.

A summer departure could be on the cards for him as well as McTominay, with West Ham eyeing a double swoop.

An opening bid for Maguire worth £20million was also turned down earlier in the window, but the Hammers are considering upping their offer for him.

McTominay has an asking price of £40million, with the Scotland international no longer a consistent starter at Old Trafford.

West Ham duly sent a combined offer of £60m for both players but Man United have rebuffed the advance for McTominay.

Should a deal be agreed, Maguire would leave United after making 175 appearances across all competitions.

McTominay would depart after over two decades at the club having risen from their academy into the first-team.

West Ham, who finished 14th in the Premier League but won the Europa Conference League last season, are yet to make a senior signing this summer.

West Ham have yet to make a senior signing this summer despite banking £105million in the sale of Declan Rice

But talkSPORT understands they have agreed a £34million fee with Ajax for Edson Alvarez, who was linked with Chelsea last summer.

He could be the first new face at the club after they sold Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105million.

Gunners striker Folarin Balogun is also on their radar this summer as they approach the new season, with a trip to Bournemouth awaiting them on Saturday afternoon.
