® Kevin De Bruyne may need surgery on his hamstring, could be out for the remainder of 2023

Kevin De Bruyne may need surgery on his hamstring which could rule him out for the remainder of 2023, according to reports in Belgium.

De Bruyne pulled up in the first-half of Manchester City’s Premier League season opener against Burnley last Friday.

He was forced off injured as he suffered a hamstring problem – the same injury during last season’s Champions League final.

According to Nieuwsblad Sport, the star midfielder could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

They claim he may have to undergo surgery on the hamstring injury sustained at Turf Moor, ruling him out for the rest of the year and recovering by early 2024.

A final decision has not yet been made, but surgery is seen as the best solution.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed the reports, revealing De Bruyne will undergo surgery to treat his hamstring.

The Blues boss claimed the Belgium international will be out for ‘three or four months’.
