Man Utd came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Old Trafford but Erik ten Hag’s side are yet to find their form this season.
Marcus Rashford has urged Manchester United fans to ‘stick with’ the players after Saturday’s come-from-behind 3-2 win at home to Nottingham Forest.
United somehow managed to find themselves 2-0 down after just four minutes at Old Trafford, with goals from Taiwo Awoniyi and Willy Boly silencing the Old Trafford crowd. Erik ten Hag’s side are yet to find their form this season and were left incredibly open once again as a pacy Forest side countered with ease.
But despite the woeful start, supporters never turned and the players began to assert their dominance. Christian Eriksen halved the deficit with a deft flick, following some good work and a cross from Rashford.
The Reds forward was involved again in the equaliser, chipping a wonderful ball to Bruno Fernandes who set up Casemiro. And when the 25-year-old was fouled by Danilo in the box, United had their chance to take the lead.
Fernandes duly stepped up and arrowed his spot-kick into Matt Turner’s bottom corner and the turnaround was complete. Rashford, who played on the left for the first time this season after two stints upfront, remains some way from his best but called on fans to show the faith as they find their form.
The England and United star simply tweeted: “Stick with us”.
Despite being some way from their best form, United have managed to pick up two wins from their first three games and have continued the strong home record that helped them reach the top-four last season. But Ten Hag will hope for a major improvement when he takes his side to Arsenal next weekend.
