‘He’s transformed his game’: Manager left utterly blown away by ‘special’ 27 y/o Man City player

Manchester City women’s team head coach, Gareth Taylor lavished praise on to Jack Grealish.

After the Englishman set up Erling Haaland’s opener, the 50-year-old gave his two cents on him on City’s official YouTube channel.

Gareth Taylor lauded Jack Grealish for how much he has evolved his all-round game since he signed for Manchester City in 2021.

Gareth Taylor raves about Manchester City superstar Jack Grealish

Branded as ‘special’ by Harry Redknapp, the treble-winner silenced his critics by leading the Sky Blues’ revival during the second half of last season.

Grealish virtually ticked every possible box; causing left-backs headaches, being elite defensively, retaining the ball excellently and turning up in the biggest of games.

Gareth Taylor showered Jack Grealish with praise for the player he has developed into in a Manchester City shirt.

“Really good play from Jack. I think he’s transformed his game since he’s come here and started working with this team, and with Pep [Guardiola]. I think previously at [Aston] Villa, he was obviously a very good player. But his discipline now is very good.”

“He knows and waits for the right moment to take the defender on, he knows when he’s overloaded and needs to keep the ball, and move the possession to the other side.”

Jack Grealish can still go up several levels

Gareth Taylor is spot on about Jack Grealish and what is frightening is that he can still further improve.

That is just how gifted the two-time Premier League winner is and has always been.

Perhaps having a more direct approach or getting support from Josko Gvardiol as a wing-back in possession could allow the 27-year-old to take up more central positions, where he is truly at his best.

Jack Grealish, whilst being a nuisance on the wing is more of an attacking midfielder naturally and if Pep Guardiola starts to deploy him in this role, he could become double the player he is already.
