Report: Man City do not want to sell ‘special’ 20 y/o gem to PL club, they think he can be a starter one day

It has been reported that Manchester City have no interest in selling James McAtee to Wolves this summer.

This comes from the Daily Mail, as he admitted to having been unsure about his future a month ago after initially assuming that he was set to stay at City this season.

As Wolves are lurking to discover whether they can sign James McAtee, it’s safe to say that Manchester City have no interest in such a deal.

Manchester City refuse to sell James McAtee to Wolves

Branded as ‘special’ by Pep Guardiola (via The Star), the 20-year-old is regarded as one of the Sky Blues’ most talented academy products.

A silky midfielder by trade, the youngster made a statement last season by heading to Sheffield United on loan and playing a decisive role in their promotion to the Premier League.

Now, it has been reported that in a deal unrelated to the one involving Matheus Nunes, Wolves are keen on signing Manchester City wonderkid James McAtee.

The treble-winners have no intention to sell the teenager permanently as they view him as a potential starter in the future.

However, City would be open to sending McAtee on loan to a club where they believe he will develop in the best possible manner, as he himself fancies such a move to Ajax.

James McAtee should be kept at all costs

For starters, even a loan spell to Wolves would perhaps not be advisable for James McAtee as Manchester City would be selling him to a side that could go down this season.

Instead, the plan should be send McAtee on loan to a club that play a similar philosophy to the Sky Blues, or at least a setup where he can get on the ball enough and express himself.

But in any case, the boyhood Manchester City fan should be kept at all costs as he is truly a unique talent capable of starting in midfield in the first-team one day.
