😳 Days Before the Family Tragedy, the Wife Publicly Accused Her Husband of an Affair With a Younger Intern...

A Michigan mom who tragically lost her life alongside her six children in a suspected murder-suicide had reportedly poured her heart out on Reddit about her husband’s alleged 𝒶𝒻𝒻𝒶𝒾𝓇—just years before the unthinkable happened.

Amanda “Mandy” Karolkiewicz, 39, was fatally shot by her husband, 47-year-old Kristopher Karolkiewicz, inside their Grand Haven Township home last Friday, according to authorities. The father is believed to have then set the house on fire and turned the gun on himself, police said.

But long before the violence, Mandy had been sharing raw, emotional posts on Reddit under the username MandyK1179, according to the Detroit News. In 2024, she wrote that she felt like she was “living in a Hallmark movie”—only for darker details about her marriage to surface.

One post reportedly described how she first met her older husband when she was an intern. Years later, she claimed, he was 𝒸𝒽𝑒𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔 again with a younger intern—the same age she had been when they started their relationship.

“I kept telling myself, ‘I love my kids more than I hate my husband right now,’” she allegedly wrote in a now-𝓿𝒾𝓇𝒶𝓁 thread. She said she faked it until they made it, but admitted it was still a “fight to stay in a healthy place.”

The mother of six frequently visited the “As One After Infidelity” sub-Reddit, a support group for couples trying to rebuild trust. In one early post, she said the idea of leaving was “insanely terrifying” because of their many children, and that she had ignored major red flags due to her own trauma.

She also wrote about a moment when she pushed her husband after discovering what she called an “emotional” 𝒶𝒻𝒻𝒶𝒾𝓇. “I don’t feel bad still,” she reportedly commented. “He towers over me and destroyed me mentally.”

The couple married in 2009 and had been together nearly 17 years. Mandy was a substitute teacher; Kristopher had recently left his job as a vice president at the American Heart Association, according to reports.

Autopsy results confirmed all eight family members—including children ages 5 to 15—died from gunshot wounds, with multiple fires intentionally set inside the home, police said. The family’s pets also perished.

Mandy’s Reddit posts now serve as a haunting window into a marriage that, by her own account, had survived betrayal. But what led a family that seemed to have worked through so much to end in such devastation?
