Gordon Ramsay Gives Selena Gomez a Culinary Education (Including Some Colorful Language) on ‘Selena + Chef.’

While Gordon Ramsay may not have resorted to dubbing Selena Gomez an “idiot sandwich,” he certainly doesn’t hold back his criticism in the upcoming episode of Selena + Chef.

This week, the star of Only Murders in the Building graciously welcomes Gordon Ramsay, renowned for his Kitchen Nightmares hosting gig, as a guest chef on her HBO Max show Selena + Chef. The episode is set to air this Thursday, and PEOPLE has an exclusive preview showcasing the fiery interactions between the two in the kitchen.

In previous episodes and seasons, guest chefs had joined virtually to provide digital guidance to Gomez. However, Ramsay decides to give the star her first in-person cooking lesson.

In the clip, we catch a glimpse of the Hell’s Kitchen host’s famously fiery temper when he instructs the “Lose You to Love Me” singer to place the ribeye steak in a pan. After she complies, he quickly corrects her, saying, “Wrong f—ing pan, that’s my non-stick pan for potatoes.”

Ramsay’s teaching approach aligns with his reputation for critiquing cooking content on TikTok and his television shows. Selena Gomez, the founder of Rare Beauty, doesn’t hesitate to retort, exclaiming, “What the f—?”

The video unfolds into chaos as Ramsay repeatedly urges, “Next one in,” while Gomez appears flustered. After several requests from the chef, the actress eventually grasps her task and adds a second ribeye to the pan.

In the midst of this culinary commotion, Ramsay rushes out of the kitchen and shouts out the window, “Next one in! Next one in, please! For f— sake, somebody help me!” Ramsay’s outburst elicits laughter from Gomez and her long-time friend Raquelle Stevens.

In the full episode, viewers can anticipate more colorful language, laughter, and cooking adventures, along with insights into Ramsay’s chosen charity.

In the fourth season of Gomez’s series, the actress is accompanied by her dearest friends, family members, and an array of celebrity chefs. The lineup includes Adrienne Cheatham, Devonn Francis, Kristen Kish, Ludo Lefebvre, Matty Matheson, Nick DiGiovanni, Paola Velez, Priya Krishna, and Rachael Ray.

Similar to the first three seasons, each chef will spotlight a distinct charity in every episode. To date, the show has successfully generated $400,000 in support of 26 nonprofit organizations.

In contrast to prior seasons set in Selena Gomez’s Los Angeles residence, this season offers a change of backdrop.

The Malibu beach house where Gomez showcases her culinary skills may ring a bell for certain viewers, as it was previously showcased in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, serving as the family home of Miley Cyrus’s character. A representative for HBO verified this information to PEOPLE back in August.

The connection to Hannah Montana adds an enjoyable twist to the story, considering that Selena Gomez rose to fame through her Disney Channel role on the series in 2007. In the show, she had a recurring part as Mikayla, a pop star who engages in conflicts with Miley Cyrus’ character, Hannah Montana.

Additionally, the same beach house had a notable appearance on HBO’s Big Little Lies as the residence of Reese Witherspoon’s character, Madeline Martha Mackenzie.
