In their upcoming movie they play a married couple whose relationship is on the brink of collapse.
But Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie looked solid as a rock when they were pictured arriving at a New York screening of their drama By The Sea on Tuesday.
The couple stayed put on a very affectionate display as they headed into the Directors Guild of America theatre, holding hands, linking arms and exchanging loving gazes throughout.
Angelina, 40, stunned in a vintage style powder blue chiffon dress, worn with a metallic gold belt which cinched her in at the waist.
The Maleficent star glowed, showing off her flawless complexion with just a little eye-liner and lip gloss.
Completing her look was a pair of nude pointed heels which tied in with her belt as she greeted fans with her handsome man.
Brad, 51, rocked a semi-casual yet hip look in a dark top, waistcoat, Mastercraft Union jeans and blazer – finishing the outfit with a tweed flat cap and charcoal grey scarf.
In By The Sea – which Angelina also directs – the couple co-star for the first time since 2005’s Mr. And Mrs. Smith – where the duo fell in love.
The movie – set in the 1970s – revolves around Roland and Vanessa, a couple struggling to keep their marriage together.
In a rare interview with Today on Monday Brad and Ange opened up about the actress’ health issues, their first year of marriage as well as their new movie.
Angelina said of the project: ‘We were joking… We were saying, like… “See, this is the beginning. And then this is 10 years later. This is what 10 years of marriage will do to you.”‘
The duo spent their honeymoon in 2014 filming the drama on the Maltese island of Gozo.
They share six children together; Maddox, 14, Pax, 11, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, nine and twins Vivienne and Knox, seven.
The Salt actress was quick to point out that the story is not based on their own relationship.
‘I’m counting on the audience to know that if it was close to us at all, we could never make this film,’ Angelina explained. ‘It’s because we’re actually very, very stable and these aren’t our issues.’
During the sit down talk, Brad revealed his admiration for his wife after her decision to have a double mastectomy and having her ovaries removed as a preventative measure after genetic tests showed she had a high risk of getting cancer.
‘There was no vanity to my wife’s approach,’ the Fight Club star said. ‘It was mature.’
He said that her approach to the situation was to make the best of it, explaining: ‘There was a strength in that. It was just another one of those things in life that makes you tighter and she was doing it for the kids, and she was doing it for her family so we could be together.’
By The Sea will be released in the US on November 13 and the UK on December 11.
