Zendaya’s Euphoria Faces Uncertainty as Co-Star Dominic Fike Contemplates Season 3 Exit

The future of HBO’s Euphoria Season 3 is clouded with uncertainty as actor Dominic Fike, who portrays Elliot in the series, expresses doubt about his return. Fike recently opened up about his reservations, shedding light on a crucial aspect that impacted his decision.

The central theme of addiction in Euphoria has resonated deeply with its audience, with characters navigating various facets of this struggle. Creator Sam Levinson, drawing from personal experiences, delves into the highs and lows of drug addiction through the protagonist Rue, portrayed by Zendaya. However, Fike’s reluctance to return stems from his own struggles with addiction and concerns about how it was addressed during the show’s production.

In a recent interview with Variety, Fike discussed his participation in the upcoming short film, “Little Death,” directed by his close friend Jack Begert. Drawing parallels with his role in Euphoria, Fike revealed that acting as a drug addict was more comfortable in the short film, not due to familiarity with the director but because of his dissatisfaction with how his personal struggles were handled on the Euphoria set.

“I’ve done that before, acted like a drug addict. I actually am a pretty big drug addict myself, believe it or not. When I was on ‘Euphoria,’ they kind of just gave me a coach who would just talk to you. It was just some random lady. Jack is one of my best friends so it made it a lot easier, obviously,” Fike shared.

While acknowledging the presence of a sober coach on the Euphoria set, Fike expressed dissatisfaction with the effectiveness of the support. He highlighted the lack of a personal connection, stating, “It was hard to take advice from someone like that or give a sh*t.”

This candid revelation casts a shadow on Fike’s potential return for Euphoria Season 3. Despite expressing love for the series, he remains uncertain about reprising his role, citing a lack of communication with the show’s team. The absence of connections with the production members, combined with the challenges faced during the previous season, contributes to Fike’s contemplation about his involvement in the upcoming season.

As Euphoria fans await updates on the show’s cast and storyline, Fike’s candid insights into his struggles and uncertainties add a layer of complexity to the series’s future.
