In a legal battle that continues to escalate, rapper Cardi B and YouTuber Tasha K, also known as Latasha Kebe, find themselves amid a contentious feud.
Cardi B sued Tasha in 2019 over what the rapper’s lawyers called a “malicious campaign” on social media and YouTube aimed at hurting Cardi’s reputation.
The star’s attorneys said they had repeatedly tried — and failed — to get her to pull her videos down.
One of Tasha video cited in the lawsuit includes a statement that Cardi had done sex acts “with beer bottles on f—ing stripper stages.” Other videos said the superstar had contracted herpes; that she had been a prostitute; that she had cheated on her husband; and that she had done hard drugs.
In 2022, the court sided with the rapper during her defamation lawsuit against Tasha K, but the blogger claimed bankruptcy and a lack of funds to pay the “Bogos” hitmaker.
New court documents reveal that Cardi B’s legal team is accusing Tasha K of hiding secret offshore accounts and failing to disclose them during her Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
Tasha K filed for bankruptcy in May 2023, asserting that her assets amounted to less than $60,000, as reported by Billboard.
However, XXL magazine reports that documents it has obtained reveal Cardi B’s attorneys are challenging the truthfulness of Tasha K’s bankruptcy claims.
The legal team alleges that Tasha K and her husband, Cheickna Kebe, did not fully disclose the existence of offshore and domestic trusts created for their benefit.
During depositions, both Tasha K and her husband testified that they did not possess any savings accounts, IRAs, or trusts in their names or their children’s names.
Cardi B’s legal team claims to have uncovered evidence to the contrary, revealing the existence of multiple domestic and offshore trusts that were allegedly never disclosed by Tasha K.
The documents highlight at least one trust where $30,000 was allegedly transferred. Additional trusts were reported to be located in the Cook Islands, the Island of Nevis, and in Florida and Georgia.
Cardi B’s lawyers suspect that a third party named Patricia Haynes knows these trusts. Despite being aware of the subpoena, Haynes is accused of deliberately evading service, prompting Cardi B’s legal team to seek a judge’s intervention.
If proven that Tasha K intentionally hid assets, she could potentially face up to five years in prison and criminal fines. Cardi B had previously won a $4 million defamation lawsuit against Tasha K in October 2022.
Although Cardi B had hinted at forgiveness in 2023 when Tasha K shared videos about financial struggles, the recent allegations have reignited the legal battle. Now, Cardi B appears determined to collect the full $4 million judgment.
The feud between the rapper and the YouTuber has intensified, with the legal spotlight now shining on allegations of concealed assets and the potential legal consequences for Tasha K.
