Kenya Glasgow, 31, and her twin daughter Kennedi were found on the sidewalk after being hit by a lightning bolt around 2:30 p. m. on Sunday, according to the Margate Police Department.
Kam Glasgow, the grieving father, recounted the moment through tears, describing how he felt the residual effects of the strike before realizing what had happened to his family.
“I saw the whole thing,” Kam shared, expressing disbelief over the “1 in 1.2 million” freak accident. “S–t can’t be real,” he wrote on Facebook, grappling with the reality of losing both his wife and one of his children in such a sudden manner.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, administering CPR and rushing both victims to separate hospitals. Tragically, both Kenya and Kennedi were pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
Kam reflected on the deep bond he shared with Kenya, whom he had loved since they were teenagers. “I just lost my best friend,” he lamented, while also considering the impact on their surviving daughter, Kensli, who now faces life without her twin.
