In a tragic turn of events, Karen Solomon, the Massachusetts woman sought in connection with her police officer husband’s death, has reportedly been found deceased from what authorities believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. This 𝓈𝒽𝓸𝒸𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔 development has led investigators to treat the case as a potential murder-suicide.
The 58-year-old had been missing since her husband, Kurt Solomon, a respected veteran of the Worcester Police Department, was discovered dead in their home on August 18. Police had previously issued warnings that she was “presumed armed and dangerous” as they launched a significant manhunt for her.
On Monday afternoon, Worcester Police received a call about a body located in a wooded area. Chief Paul Saucier confirmed during a press briefing that they believe the deceased to be Karen Solomon. A handgun was reportedly found near her body, adding to the grim circumstances surrounding this case.
The discovery was made just over half a mile from Coes Pond, the last known location where surveillance footage captured Karen walking away from the scene. Initially, police had been called to the couple’s home for a medical emergency, only to find Kurt Solomon had already passed away.

Chief Saucier emphasized that there was no prior history of domestic violence within the Solomon family, stating, “At no time did the Solomon family have any history of domestic 𝓪𝓫𝓾𝓼𝓮.” He expressed that this case appears to be a heartbreaking incident of murder-suicide.
