The last Chevy Impala came off the assembly line at the General Motors Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant in Michigan in February 2020, marking the end of the model’s manufacture. But now, a digital artist is showing us what the Chevy Impala SS Coupe of today may be capable of.
This Chevy Impala SS Coupe concept, which comes to us from automotive artist Rain Prisk, appears to have taken cues from the present Chevy Camaro in terms of its front-end design, with a broad, thin grille section and wide, narrow headlights. The Chevy Bow Tie is positioned front and center, and the front bumper has a huge central intake covered by a mesh honeycomb grille insert lower in the fascia. A red SS insignia can be found in the top right corner of the lower grille area, and the bumper’s corners have large, vertically oriented trademark lighting.
The concept’s sleek, straightforward shape highlights the length of the contemporary Chevy Impala SS Coupe with a variety of horizontal lines. A polished chrome strip highlights the shoulder line, and the window surrounds are also chromed. The Impala logo was placed on the furthest pillar, while the Impala nameplate is located lower in the door.
The Chevy Impala’s back end is squared off to provide a respectable rear trunk, just like the Impala SS that was manufactured into the 1990s. The artist claims that the Chevy Impalas built in the 1960s and the Impala SS from the 1990s served as part of the inspiration for this new rendering approach.
The whole thing is finished in classic black paint, giving the modern Chevy Impala that quintessential Intimidator aesthetic. The cabin space looks as though it’s finished in tan leather upholstery, with the Chevy Bow Tie emblems in black added to the headrests.
